I realize the strain which

existing circumstances throw upon the Taipo Mess and I

desire as soon as possible to start a Government DâK

Bungalow on the Indian system: but pending the completion

of the Railway and the possibility of making satisfactory

arrangements for such a Bungalow, I have the honour to

recommend that an entertainment allowance at the rate of

$300 per annum should be made to the Taipo Mess, and that

this grant should be with effect from the 1st. January,

1909.
